Backstory: The Sacred Order Gathers

A teddy bear popped his head up through a portal in time to witness a world not yet ready for him.

He glimpsed an omniscient eye that watched over the mix and flow of liquid and gas. He saw that it kept a close and jealous watch over the goddess and all the creatures in her orbit. The eye observed and seldom blinked. Time turned.

The eye could neither explain nor deny, yet it was powerless and could only observe. It too stayed close to the deity. Every being blessed with life was drawn to her. Surrounded by creatures of all kinds looking for their place, she set the rhythm for everything possessing even a whisper of a soul. Energy mixed with water, wind, and dust in the primordial soup – evolving, mutating, writhing, feeding, and screaming with life, pain, and death.

Bubbles formed and rushed to the surface, finding both freedom and loss of self. This circular swirl of muck circled and heaved around the deity, who stood firm and independent of the constant hustle and crawl.

The bear would not stay too long for fear of being caught and cast out. He was in awe of the goddess but wary of the eye. Soon, he would take his leave – never able to return to the same spot, but content to go on and play voyeur in another place of wonder. – L/C
